DAY 01 - NEGOMBO (One Night)
On your arrival in Colombo, stay the first night of your two weeks holiday in Sri Lanka in a simple countryside small hotel in the village of Kammala, just 30 minutes south of Colombo International Airport. Have a relaxing evening at the hotel or take some leisure strolls in the locale or even cycle to nearby beach before starting your two weeks long holiday in Sri Lanka.

DAY 02, 03 & 04 - SIGIRIYA (Three Nights)
You are at the heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle for three nights staying in a small hotel surrounded by nature where accommodation consists of Tree Houses and Mud Chalets. No holiday to Sri Lanka is complete without visiting the cultural triangle, so explore Sri Lanka's most important heritage sites such as Dambulla Cave Temple, Polonnaruwa ruins and also a guided cycling trip across the rural villages all the way to Sigiriya Rock Fortress. You will be witnessing typical homes, irrigation lakes, rice fields, chena cultivation lands where you would be able to experience the day to day life of a rural village. You may also come across fish and vegetable vendors who goes door to door to sell to villagers. Arriving at the base of the rock fortress, you may hike up to the summit of Sigiriya to explore the ruined fortress of King Kashyapa.
Mornings or late afternoons are good to explore Dambulla temple which has five caves and nearly 150 statues of the Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasis the artistic talent of ancient days. The history of the caves, rock and temple dates from the 1st century BC.
Polonnaruwa, was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. It comprises, besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas, the monumental ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by great King Parakramabahu I in the 12th century. The glory of the bygone era can be found in the archaeological treasures that still give a good idea of how the city looked in its glory days. The most important places to see in Polonnaruwa are Royal Palace, Audience Hall, Swimming Pool, Sacred Quadrangle, Shiva Temple, Pabalu Vehera, Rankot Vihara, Kiri Vihara Dageba, Lankatilaka Buddha statue and Gal Vihara Buddha Statutes.

DAY 05, 06 - KANDY (Two Nights)
Another two nights stop in one of the most culturally important and visited site in Sri Lanka, Kandy. You will be staying in a family owned and operated small guest house near the town. Take a sneak preview of Hindu culture at one of the Hindu Temples in Matale, as they worship Hindu deities and making vows. To know about Kandyan history and culture, you will be met with a lady guide in Kandy town in an afternoon where she would be explaining you the finer details of Kandy’s history and its monarch. With her you will be visiting some important building and sites where she will be explaining you the history of them expertly before heading to Kandy's cultural dance show followed by visit to Temple of Tooth Relic in time for evening sermon.

DAY 07, 08 - NUWARA ELIYA (Two Nights)
Ride on board the scenic train from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya for two nights stay in the Tea capitol of Sri Lanka, sleeping in cozy small hotel. Kandy to Nuwara Eliya train journey is a very scenic train journeys which runs through mist capped Tea gardens passing waterfalls and quaint villages. During an evening walk in Nuwara Eliya town you would be able to visit Nuwara Eliya market and cloth bazar along with interesting colonial era buildings such as Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya Post Office, Hill Club and many other notable buildings. Why not a Beer or two in a dodgy bar with locals?
Horton Plains National Park is just 1 ½ hours drive away from Nuwara Eliya. You may take an early morning nature trail in this very important eco system where most of Sri Lanka's rivers start. Horton plains was once a hunting ground for colonial rulers. World’s end point and Baker's waterfall are of interesting places to visit during your walk in the Horton Horton Plains. Samber Deer, many varieties of birds and elusive Leopards (very rare sighting) call Horton Plains Home.
Visit a Tea estate to experience the Tea culture by plucking tea leaves, seeing Tea manufacturing process and also tasting a cup of Tea, do not miss visiting a Tea estate and a factory, a key highlight of your trip to Sri Lanka.

DAY 09, 10 - YALA NATIONAL PARK (Two Nights)
Take an interesting drive from cold climes of central hills to deep southern drylands of Yala National Park enjoying the scenic landscape and waterfalls with a visit to less touristic attraction of Buduruwagala, an ancient and ruined Buddhist site which contains very rare rock inscriptions. Chill out by the pool with an enthralling view of breezy lake in the afternoon. You will be staying in a small safari lodge in Yala with a nice view of the lake.
Yala National Park is home for high density of Leopards, Elephants, Sloth Bears and many varieties of birds. Take a morning safari in Yala National Park in search for the elusive Leopards with an expert guide. In the afternoon, take part in an interesting cultural exploration to lesser known attraction of Sithulpawwa ancient monastery situated deep inside Yala National Park which is believed to be built in the 2nd century BC by King Kavantissa. This is an interesting culture trip with a mix of wildlife as you come across many wildlife sightings.
You will be staying these two nights in a small authentic safari lodge near Yala National Park. Sri Lanka is considered the best destination for wildlife out of Africa, so take this advantage and tick the bucket list of seeing Leopards during your holiday in Sri Lanka.

DAY 11, 12, 13 - TANGALLE (Three Nights)
Just 2 hours drive from Yala, is Tangalle. Deep south coastal town blessed with picture post card type beaches. Now this is your beach getaway chapter of your holiday in Sri Lanka. Stay in a secluded boutique hotel in Tangalle situated right on the beach for 3 nights exploring the seascapes, sun lounging and trying out various local seafood dishes. Sunsets in Tangalle are of mesmerizing sight. Nearby Rekawa beach is a Turtle habitat where you could walk in the night to see the Turtles who come to shore to lay eggs.

DAY 14 - DEPARTURE (One Night)
Say good bye and make your way to Colombo International Airport to fly back home after an authentic holiday in this miracle Island, Sri Lanka.
